1930 Collier Trophy Award. Recommendations for Godfrey L. Cabot as awardee by Harold Evans Hartney -- Canadian-born WWI flying ace who served first with the RAF, then the USAAS. One-page, typed on Aviation Business Bureau letterhead, Sept. 29, 1930 signed by Harold E. Hartney suggesting Cabot and noting that Hartney has written for Cabot's permission to submit an application; Three-page, typed recommendation, Oct. 17, 1930 of Cabot for the trophy for his "outstanding contributions to aeronautics in 1930 by the completion, after ten years of attention to the subject, of a successful device for loading from the ground, while in flight, cargo or fuel." Signed below by Hartney; along with copy of same and copies of Oct.21 and 23 Committee response.
