[Civil War; Texas History]. CSA Special Orders No. 302, Houston, Nov. 5, 1863. One and one-quarter page, 8 x 9 ½", Headquarters, Dist. of Texas, New Mexico and Arizona letterhead. By order of Major General J.B. Magruder, Capt. Edmund P. Turner, Asst. Adj.-General, Houston State troops and Texas Army troops are instructed to not interfere with Major McKee's transportation of cotton and goods down the Heches River and to supply any assistance McKee might so require. The order is penned and signed by Major F.B. Sublett (Franklin Bolivar), post commander at Nacogdoches. Paper-backed margin. Very Good.
