Collier Trophy Committee 1929: Letter to NAA President Hiram Bingham from Br. General Benjamin D. Foulois. One page typed on War Dept. Office of the Chief of the Air Corps letterhead, Dec. 18, 1928. Foulois tells Bingham he appreciates being selected and being able to serve on the Collier Trophy Committee; and that he shall be there at 10:00 am, January 14, 1929. He signs in black below. Among his many firsts, General Benjamin Delahauf Foulois (1879-1967) learned to fly the first military planes purchased from the Wright Brothers, and became the first military aviator to serves as an airship pilot; he led the strategic development of the U.S.A.F.
