Trimble, James (1755-1836). First Deputy Secretary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Document Signed "James Trimble" as Deputy Secretary. Land Patent, dated June 22, 1795 granting a tract of land called "Hill grove" in Northumberland County yo Francis Johnston and Jonathan Mifflin. Colonel Jonathan was an important figure in the Revolutionary War, serving as Assistant Quartermaster of the Army. Commonwealth title, Arms indent, large blind embossed paper seal above. Trimble signs lower left. Embossed paper seals on verso. Some age toning and foxing. Fine.
