King Sisavang Vatthana (1907-1978). Last king of Laos, ruling from 1959 to his forced abdication in December 1975 -- after which the Pathet Lao took control of the country; refusing to leave his country, he was imprisoned with his family in Sam Neua "Camp Number One" where he died with his family in 1978 from the effects of forced labor and starvation; served briefly as Prime Minister under his father King Sisavang Vong in 1951.
