Thomas Mann (German novelist, winner of the 1929 Nobel Prize in Literature) (1875-1955), clipped signature on approx 5.5"x3" thick paper, with accompanying letter from Mann's personal secretary, dated April 24, 1942, to the postal censor 3063, noting that "Enclosed is an autgraph of the well-known author Thomas Mann," also with a small clipping noting that "this communication is returned to sender because it mentions / [Unintelligible Matter]" a bold signature from an influential twentieth century author, and particularly desirable wartime ephemera from Mann's time in exile in the United States, having fled the Nazi regime in Germany.
