Charlotte Bronte (Celebrated English Novelist) (1816-1855) - black-bordered mourning cover, franked with imperforate 1d red, tied by 110 numeral cancel, addressed in the hand of Bronte to Miss Ellen Nussey of Brookroyd, with accompanying letter from appraiser Robert Gordon outlining the provenance of the cover and attesting to his belief in its authenticity, scarce and attractive.
