Grosvenor, Gilbert Hovey (1875-1966). Father of photojournalism, first full-time editor of National Geographic (1899-1954), credited with building the magazine into the iconic publication it is today. Typed Letter Signed "Gilbert Grosvenor" as Editor. One page, on National Geographic Society letterhead, Sept. 29, 1933. Grosvenor thanks a Mr. Van Dolak for his interest in the magazine and for his admirable suggestion; and discusses a 1911 article on "Reptiles of All Lands". Grosvenor signs in black lower right. Very Fine.
