Earhart, Amelia Mary. Record-setting aviator, first female to fly across the Atlantic as crew on the "Friendship", 1928; and in 1932 first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic; instrumental in the formation of The Ninety-Nines, female pilot organization; disappeared while attempting circumnavigation of the globe on July 2, 1937 over the central Pacific Ocean. Autograph. She signs "Amelia Earhart" in pencil on half sheet of notebook paper. Earhart signs in a large blank spot of the paper which is filled otherwise with notes taken by the mother of a Girl Scout while attending a "tea" talk given by Earhart. The paper folded once, some edge nicks, Fine.
