Great Britain. Infantry Officer's "Mamluk" Sword. By Goldney's, late Neild, ca. 1800-1803. Gilt brass guard, wire wrapped fishskin grip, blade with pronounced curve; supple leather scabbard with three gilt-brass mounts, the top engraved: "Goldneys late. Neild St. James Strt sword cutler to H.R.H. the Prince of Wales". Solder repair to guard joint, some edge nicks; light stain to blade and minor scuffs to scabbard leather. Very Fine.
