The "Manassa Mauler", world heavyweight boxing champion from 1919-1926, after retiring from boxing, Dempsey became a philanthropist, then in 1935 opened Jack Dempsey's Restaurant on Eighth Avenue and 50th Street in New York City. B&W Photo Signed "Jack Dempsey". 8x10" publicity photo of Dempsey facing in a suit, ca. late 1930's-1940's, signed in black ink "To my good friend Nat Lewis With every good wish Always Jack Dempsey".
