Spencerian National College Bank , Milwaukee, Wisconsin, $500 (Late 1850s-early 1860s), Unlisted in Schingoethe, light blue-green tint, red back, Indian maidens, left, hunting dog, right, signed by Platt Rogers Spencer, "Father of Fine Penmanship". VF-EF, small stains on back.
The school originated as Folsom's Mercantile College, founded in 1848; it was the first college in Cleveland. The school became a branch of the Bryant & Stratton business colleges, and changed its name to the Spencerian Business College. It later merged with Dyke College.
