German States. Baden. Infantry, Officer's Pickelhaube. Ca. 1900. Black leather body topped by brass spike, circular mount with four 8-rayed stars around. Gilt brass front plate depicts crowned gryphon supporting Baden shield, motto below; leather-backed, chinstrap scales, kokarde at sides. Plain rear spine. Some fraying of inside upper lining, and a few small nicks of the body, otherwise a Fine helmet.
