German States. Baden. Landwehrkreuz (Reserves) Dragoons, Officer's 1894 Model Pickelhaube. Black leather body topped by silver-toned spike, cruciform mount with stars. The large silver-toned front plate depicts a crowned gryphon supporting the Baden shield, 1813 cross on its breast, motto below; silver-toned, leather-backed chinstrap, kokarde at sides. The fittings including the pearl ring indicate this was worn by an officer of the 20-22 Regiments of Dragoons. Squared front visor, plain rear spine. Original 12-finger leather liner, curling but fully intact. A fine and pleasing helmet.
