Great Britain. Black Watch Skean Dhu (Sgian dubh). Ca. 1880's. 8" overall. Black carved wood hilt with brass St. Andrew and pebbled Cross, thistle wreath pattern fitting below, pommel set with dark honey Cairngorm stone, thistle wreath brass trim around. 4" saw-back blade with 2 ¼" fullers each side; leather-covered wood scabbard with brass fittings. Some friction lines on blade. Very well preserved.

This lot is not a Black Watch Sgian Dubh, but rather a Seaforth Highlander Sgian Dubh of the early 20th Century (as shown by the St. Andrew in relief set at the middle of the handle).
