"TETUAN." Lithograph of the valley of Tetuan, February 1, 1860. J. de Velasco. Comte de E. M. dibº. Lithographed by J. Donon, Madrid. 27.5 cm x 50.5 cm. 49.5 x 68 cm overall. Features of military importance are drawn and noted in the bottom margin. Tetuan, an important Moroccan port city on the Mediterranean, was captured on February 4, 1860 by the Spaniards under General Leopoldo O'Donnell. The Spanish evacuated in May of 1862. Embossed seal at the bottom with a crown and star surrounded by CUERPO DE ESTADO / DEPOSITO DE LA GUERDA.
