Cambodia. Kingdom of Cambodia. Banque Nationale du Cambodge. Trio of "INCORRECT COLOUR" Approval or Color Trial Specimens. No date (1970). 1 Riel. P-4ct. Blue with a peach colored underprint (the issued color is grayish-green). Boats docked at Phnom Pehn. Royal Palace throne room on back. No serial number, but Cambodian letters modeling how the series designation will look have been affixed to this combination model and color approval piece. Two signatures have also been affixed. Uncirculated. There is a single punch cancel. A light paper clip impression is visible, but not distracting. No.16 in the upper left margin on the back. 20 Riels. P-5ct. Lilac (the issued notes are brown on multicolor.) Combine harvester at right. Phnom Pehn Pagoda on back. SPECIMEN in red on both sides. Signatures and series number affixed for approval. Almost Uncirculated, with a light fold, and paper clip impression. No.152 in the upper left margin on the back. 5 Riels. P-10ct. Green (the issued notes are red on multicolor.) Bayon stone 4 faces. Royal Palace on back. SPECIMEN in red on both sides. Series number affixed for approval. Almost Uncirculated, with a light fold, and paper clip impression. No.52 in the upper left margin on the back. All three have the following notations hand entered in red in the top margins: "APPROVED LETTER 23-9-70 - INCORRECT COLOUR." All three have the following statement handwritten in blue ink on the faces of the notes: "Approuve Banque Nationale du Cambodge," and are hand signed by a bank official. The envelope the notes were stored in is also included. (3)
