Lincoln, Benjamin. Signs as Collector of Customs for Boston in 1808, certifying the import of a cask of rum from Granada at the port of Boston and Charlestown. Partly Printed Document signed: "B Lincoln" as Collector, "T. Melvill" signs as Inspector, 1 page, 9½x5. Carried on the ship Jane Gillpatrick. Benjamin Lincoln (1733-1810) served under George Washington at the siege of Boston and in the Battles of White Plains and Fort Independence. He served under General Gates at the major American victory at Saratoga (1777). VF+.
