France - Revolutionary-Early Napoleonic Era. Lot of Letters and Documents: 1) Two-page letter signed by Jean-Gérard Lacuée, Minister of War, Paris An 8; 2-4) Letter from Paul Barras (main executive leader of the Directory 1795-1799). One page, 6 ½ x 8 1/3", dated April 3, 1799. Curious denunciation of one Bervillier concerning a military award. Along with two 19th Century engravings; 5) One-page Circular signed Saint Hilaire. An 7. Postmarked Toulon and stamped "le General de brigade"; 6) Letter from "Arnaud, Commissaire de Guerres," dated Vendemiaire An 8. On 8th Military Division letterhead; 7) Urgent (Vendemiare An 8) 1799 request order from Leclerc; 8) Document signed by "Desbureaux," divisional commander with orders for Citizen Delom to take command of a company destined to embark for the French Colonies; 9-10) Order signed by Francois Lefebvre, Commanding General of the 14th, 15th and 17th Division - Paris Garrison (who in 1804 became one of the original 18 Marshals of France created by Napoleon, later, in 1807, Duc de Danzig); with 19th Century engraving; 11) Unidentified letter, Dec. 23, 1800 addressed on verso to the Secrétariat du Gouvernment, red wax seal still affixed; 12-13) Two Letters from Charles-François Lebrun, Duc de Plaissance, as Third Consul (he was appointed so following Napoleon's 1799 coup; Lebrun became Arch-Treasurer of the Empire in 1804). In the first dated Feb.3, 1801, Lebrun promises a former colleague that he will find a position for his brother-in-law; in the second, dated Oct. 16, 1803, he forwards a letter from the War Minister to the Chef de Brigade Duval; 14) Document dated Pluivoise An 9 detailing the military service of one Jean LeGrand with a number of signatures including his; 15) 19th Century engraving of Jean-Victor Marie Moreau.
