General Land Office Certificate Signed "Martin Van Buren," Pay Table Office Warrant for Service in the Continental Army, "Tweed Ring" Check, and Militia Appointment by Roland Smith, Brookline, Vermont. 1) Pay-Table Office, Nov. 18, 1782. 26 pounds, 16 shillings, three pence. Signed by Oliver Wolcott. 1837. Small body hole, and fold splits, otherwise Very Fine. 2) Appointment by Roland Smith of William B. Root to the position of Sergeant of the Fifth Company, Third Regiment, First Brigade. Soldier at left. Fine or so, with minor edge splits. 3) Impressive Land Office document, 1838, with secretarial signature of Martin Van Buren. 4) Chamberlain of the City of New York at the National Broadway Bank check. 1869.
