Kipling, Rudyard (1865-1936). English short story writer and novelist. Nobel Prize winner. His important works include "The Jungle Book", "Gunga Din", "Kim" and "The White Man's Burden". ALS. 8vo. 1 1/2 pages. From the Grand Pump Room Hotel, Bath. Dec. 27, 1933. To the Pupils of Deer Lodge School, Mayerthorpe, Alberta. Kipling profusely thanks the pupils for the custom made calendar and place mats they sent him. He also discusses the difficulties the extreme waether conditions and their effect upon the 75 head steers on his property (Bateman's, a 17th-century house located in Burwash, East Sussex, England, where Kipling. lived from 1902 to his death in 1936). Signed "Rudyard Kipling." Also included is a photograph of Kipling, suitable for framing. All in very good condition. From the Collection of Diana Herzog .
