Squirrel Hunter's Discharge (Ohio) 1862. Honorable discharge. Brown. Squirrel in tree, left. Hunter holding rifle, right. In August of 1862 Cincinnati was in danger of invasion from the South. Governor Dodd of Ohio called upon all "squirrel hunters" to come to the defense of the city, and they did, persuading the Confederates to abandon their invasion plans. Ehrgott, Forbriger & Co. Litho. VF. Light stains, minor mounting remnants, but still very attractive.
