New York Electric Vehicle Transportation Company (New Jersey) 1899. 100 shares. Issued, cancelled. No.A1240. Brown. Electric taxi cabs drive by a fountain. In the early 1900s entire fleets of electric taxi cabs served major cities. The early batteries were quite heavy and took an excessive amount of time to charge. Thomas Edison was sure he could solve these problems, but his unsuccessful efforts nearly bankrupted him. VF. With stamp and punch cancels that do not affect the copyrighted central vignette.
