Portrait Miniature of Ensign John Galway, 103rd Regiment (Lancashire Artillery Volunteers). Latter part of the 19th Century. Galway sits in full uniform on a balustrade. Born in 1843, Galway entered military service June, 1860. He died of cholera in India in April, 1865 and was buried at Asirgarh Fort, Khandesh district, Central Provinces. Gold-brush matted, and framed, 8 1/3 x 10". Slight tape adhesion on glass near sidepiece. Ex Hammatt Collection.
