Standard Oil Trust 1896. 1/972,500 shares. Assignment of Legal Title. Fully issued, cancelled. No.A6745. Green borders. Capitol Building. Signed Henry Flagler. International Bank Note Co. Pen cancels, otherwise Very Fine+. These were issued in place of Standard Oil Trust certificates when the Trust was ordered to be dissolved by the Ohio State Supreme Court. This arrangement worked for John D. Rockefeller, Flagler, H. H. Rogers and others until 1911 when the Trust was declared to be an illegal monopoly, and was dissolved. Henry Morrison Flagler was a founder of Standard Oil, and a key figure in the dvelopment of the Atlantic Coast of Florida.
