Civil War. Set of "The Troy Weekly Times," Troy, NY, Nov. 14, 1863 to March 4, 1865 in covers. Volume VIII-IX. Each paper, four-page folio. A fascinating chronology and contemporary reporting of the Civil War, the world, the nation and New York during this time period. Volume VIII is missing edition number 18, 26, 27, 39-46, 48 and 50; Volume IX is missing editions 2, 3, 10, 12, 14, 15, 17, 19-24. The papers are neatly laid into half-calf, marbled board covers; the printed spine reads TROY (N.Y.) WEEKLY TIMES Aug. 1863-65 (although the papers here start in Nov.). The first paper folded and loose. About 41 newspapers. Generally well-preserved, some with light foxing, spots and or age toning. Very Good-About Very Fine.
