Major-General in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War, known for suppressing Shay's Rebellion in 1787, U.S. Secretary of War (1718-1783), active in Massachusetts politics, second Lt.-Governor of Massachusetts (1788-1789). Autograph Document Signed "B Lincoln" as Collector. Revenue Certificate, Port of Salem, May 1806, certifying the importation of one 45 gallon cask of claret wine aboard the schooner Aurora. Embossed seal in printed frame upper left, Lincoln signs lower right in a somewhat cramped hand typical of his later years. Uncancelled and Very Fine.
