World War II Insignia and Ribbon bar group to Master Sergeant Homer Lee Wise. Born in Baton Rouge, LA, Wise (1917-1974) won the Congressional Medal of Honor while serving as Staff Sergeant in Company L, 142nd Infantry Regiment, 36 Infantry Division. On June 14, 1944 in Magliano, Italy, Wise carried a wounded man to safety and repeatedly went ahead of his unit to engage the German forces alone.
