LA BIENFAISANTE ISRAELITE / FONDÉE EN 1843, placard engraved below to France's noted Jewish educator, economist and politician RAPHAEL GEORGES LÉVY, 28 Novembre 1920 - the same year in which he was elected to the French Senate. Sculptor and medalist, Emmanuel Hannaux, a native of Metz, specialized in Jewish-related subjects. Not mentioned in Friedenberg's "Jewish Minters and Medalists". Rare. Lightly toned. Extremely Fine.
