San Francisco Mint Silver Ingot. Undated, 24.87 ounces, .99975 Fine. Here is a handsome larger size ingot (66 mm x 97.5 mm x 12 mm) that displays a complete oval stamp of the Mint at the upper obverse. Other markings are all on the obverse and appear vertically as follows: 210/ 3.38/ 24.87 ozs/ 999.75/ FINE. Typical pebbled surfaces with only a few unobtrusively positioned bubbles add character to this example. It is interesting to note that unlike most surviving San Francisco Mint silver ingots, this piece seems to have been cut from a larger bar at the mint, as both the left and right edges are indicative of such cutting.
