Official Alaska 1959 Statehood Medal Struck in Gold. 64 mm, 214.6 grams of .900 fine gold. Designed by Ralph Menconi and manufactured by the Medalic Art Company. Serial number 44 stamped into the rim. A map of Alaska with "49th STATE" is superimposed over a map of the United States. On the reverse is the Alaska State seal. One of only 100 struck. Uncirculated.
