North American Land Co. (PA) 1795. Philadelphia. 3 shs . #541. Signed by Robert Morris as president and James Marshall as secretary. Counterfoil at left, on laid paper, uncanceled, very strong appearance. Previously framed, and then dismounted, with some minor splits and tape remnants where the original mounts were; otherwise VF. North American Land speculated on and developed lands given by a grateful Congress to Robert Morris, who had helped finance the Revolution. The company failed, and, Morris, the "financier of the American Revolution" and signer of the Declaration of Independence found himself in debtor´s prison.
