South Carolina. June 10, 1775. 50 Pounds. Serial number 870. Ornate indent at left. COMMONS HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY is prominent near the top. The denomination is hand written in three places. The back is the same design used on the 50 Pound denomination of the previous series. Signed by Jacob Motte, Gideon Dupont, Jr., Theodore Gaillard, Jr., Thomas Farr, Jr., Elias Horry, Jr., and Thomas Horry. Very Fine in appearance, but this note was split in half and later joined together with a stamp hinge. There are some horizontal splits along the centerfold as well. 50 Pounds is the only denomination issued under this resolution. An excellent candidate for restoration. Ex. Henry Chapman.
