Hemingway, Ernest Influential Nobel Prize-winning American novelist (1899-1961); his many classics include The Sun Also Rises, For Whom the Bell Tolls, A Farewell to Arms, and The Old Man and the Sea. Excellent group of photos, ca 1947, including 8" x 10" black and white Photograph Signed "To John / Ernie Hemingway," over light are of his body, also signed "Mouse Hemingway" by the author´s son Patrick. A great image of Ernest measuring the antlers of a buck that "Mouse" has brought down at the family´s vacation spot in Sun Valley, ID. Patrick has a rifle slung over one shoulder. With 10" x 8" Photograph Signed "Mary Hemingway" by the writer´s wife, a lively image of her in a shirt and pants, holding the antlers of her own kill. With four unsigned 5" x 7" Photographs of Ernest and Mary Hemingway with their friends, legendary movie star Gary Cooper and his wife, "Rocky," gambling, drinking wine, and conversing. All photographs with some creases, but all VG. With photocopy of a 1990 letter explaining how the recipient came to meet Hemingway and visit him on vacation. Young Patrick Hemingway would accompany his father on safari in Africa, and later became a professional game hunter. A fantastic group showing the great writer, his family, and his friends at play.
