Anne, Guinea, 8.38g., 1705, draped bust facing left, anna.dei. gratia., toothed border both sides, rev. inverted die axis, Pre-Union type crowned cruciform shields, rose at centre, sceptres in angles, six strings to Irish harp, date either side of crown above English shield, .mag br.fra et.hib reg., edge, diagonally milled (MCE 211; S.3562), with a deep red attractive tone, with full underlying brilliance, some light flecking on obverse, otherwise as struck and very pleasing, very rare thus Estimate £3,000-4,000 provenance Purchased Baldwin 1948 for £35
