James I, third coinage, Crown, 29.94g., m.m. thistle, king crowned and in armour with a sword over his shoulder, on horseback right, groundline below, crowned rose on housing, rev. square garnished shield surmounted by Welsh plumes, reads qvae devs (FRC VIII/XVI; N.2121; S.2665), nick by reverse mintmark, otherwise as struck, almost extremely fine, very rare thus Estimate £2,500-3,000 provenance:
