James I, second coinage, Sixpence, 2.98g., 1604, m.m. lis, third bust, crowned bust of king right, with square cut projecting beard, vi behind, rev. square-topped shield, date above, reads qvae devs (N.2102; S.2657), undoubtedly a piece of 'Fine Work', struck on a perfect full round flan, deeply toned, in mint state, exceptionally rare as a James I Sixpence in this condition Estimate £1,500-2,000 provenance:
