Gaunt, London case, together with recipient's two Transport Passes, London Passenger Transport Board, London Railways pass, brass, reverse engraved 'The Rt. Hon. Lord Wigram 100', and The Railways Executive, British Railways, silvered brass, reverse engraved 'Lord Wigram 43'
Lord C. Wigram, P.C., G.C.B., G.C.V.O., C.S.I. (1873-1960), joined the Royal Artillery 1893; A.D.C. to Lord Elgin Viceroy of India, 1895; exchanged to 18th Lancers 1897; served N.W. Frontier, India 1897-98; A.D.C. to Lord Curzon Viceroy of India 1899-1904; served in South Africa (M.I.D.); Assistant to the Chief of Staff during H.R.H. the Prince of Wales' visit to India, 1905-06; Brevet- Majority, 1906; Brevet Lieutenant-Colonel 1915; Brevet Colonel 1919; Assistant Private Secretary and Equerry to the King, 1910-31; Private Secretary to the King, 1931-35 and Private Secretary and Keeper of H.M. Privy Purse 1935-36; Late Deputy Constable and Lieutenant Governor, Windsor Castle and Keeper of the King's Archives; Permanent Lord in Waiting and Extra Equerry to King George VI, 1936-52; Permanent Lord in Waiting and Extra Equerry to the Queen since 1952-60.
