Turkey Order of the Illustrious Ottoman Dynasty (Nichan Hanedan Ali Osman), an extremely rare complete set of insignia by Babayan and Kampamadjian Brothers, Constantinople, Badge 62.5 by 48.5mm. (excluding star
And crescent suspension), Collar, composed of thirty-eight gold and enamel links, eighteen large links decorated with stars and crescents, the nineteen smaller connecting links decorated with six-pointed stars, the central link decorated with thee Ottoman family arms with turban above; Badge, 62.5mm. x 48.5mm., gold and enamel, the gold central medallion with the toughra of Abdul Hamid II, the red enamelled border around with the dates A.H. 699 (1299 A.D., the date of the founding of the Ottoman dynasty) and A.H. 1311 (1893 A.D., the date of the foundation of the Order), the whole within a white enameled wreath with star and crescent suspension, also with gold and enamel pin-back neck suspension comprising five white enameled stars and crescents on a red enameled background, extremely fine, with original riband bow, in purple velvet case of issue with gilt Imperial Ottoman arms on lid,

The Order of Nichan Hanedan Ali Osman was founded in 1893 by Abdul Hamid II as a single class order. Very seldom bestowed, membership was restricted to members of the Imperial Family and, on a very few occasions, to foreign Monarchs.
