Documents relating to a Victorian Officer of the Royal Welsh Fusiliers.
A Commission, dated 20th November 1850, appointing Frederick Sayer to be Second Lieutenant in the 23rd Regiment of Foot; a second commission, promoting him First Lieutenant in the same regiment, dated 7th October 1852; a citation, impressed with the stamp of the Grande Chancellerie of the Ordre Imperial De La Légion D'Honneur, nominating Sayer, (Frédéric) Capitaine au 23e Regiment Royal Fusiliers de Galles Aide Député au Quartier Maitre Genéral to be a Chevalier of the Order; and a lengthy manuscript, dated 17th December 1857, authorising Captain Sayer to accept and wear the insignia of the Imperial Order of the Legion of Honor of the Fifth Class (4)
