An Officer's Tunic of the Sussex Yeomanry.
A very well-made and extremely rare Full Dress tunic, of Lancer style, in drab serge with fine deep-blue cloth collar, cuffs, plastron and piping, the collar and cuffs edged with deep-blue mohair braid, brass collar-badges and gilt Royal Arms buttons, skirt-slash edging and plaited shoulder-cords both of blue square-cord, badges of rank for 2nd Lieutenant, and tailor's label of Hobson & Sons, inscribed in ink HAB Combe Esq 46

Having been disbanded early in the 19th Century, the Sussex Yeomanry was re-raised during the Boer War, and adopted a khaki Lancer style of uniform (made fashionable by the Australian Light Horse) as its first Full Dress. In 1909, this uniform was superseded by a dark blue patrol jacket with swags of black gimp across the front.
