An Officer's Uniform of the Italian Carabinieri Reali
A double-breasted black coatee with scarlet turned-back lapels secured by plain domed white metal buttons, silver foliate embroidery on collar and cuffs, scarlet turn-backs to skirts, embroidered Grenade skirt-ornaments bearing VE monogram on the ball; companion black twill trousers with double 1½ in. scarlet stripes showing narrow scarlet piping between and footstraps secured by twin buckles (straps defective); together with a pair of OR's white metal fringed epaulettes and a sergeant's black/silver aiguillette, both of the Carabinieri (the aiguillette defective) (4)

The monogram is that of King Victor Emanuel III, 1900-46.
