Distinguished Flying Cross, G.VI.R., reverse dated '1945'; 1939-45 Star; Air Crew Europe Star, with France and Germany bar; Defence and War Medals; New Zealand War Service 1939-45; United States of America Distinguished Flying Cross; all unnamed as issued, good very fine or better together with Royal New Zealand Air Force Pilot's Flying Log-Book (7)

D.F.C. London Gazette 24.7.1945. Acting Flight Lieutenant Frank.Brewster. Lawless No. 198 Squadron, Royal New Zealand Air Force.
The Recommendation states; 'Since commencing operational flight in August, 1943, F/Lt. Lawless has taken part in 140 offensive sorties. Pror to 'D' Day he was bombing V.1 launching sites and other heavily defended targets as well as carrying out fighter sweeps and attacks on enemy shipping.
Since 'D' Day, he has completed over 70 sorties with Rocket projectiles against strong points, Army Headquarters, Gun Positions and road, rail and barge traffic. In defensive patrols he has destroyed ten flying bombs, while in Belgium during the German break through in the Ardennes sector in January, 1945, he destroyed an F.W. 190 as well as damaging road and rail transport. He also destroyed one enemy aircraft on the ground.'
