Oakleaf; Belgium, Order of the Crown, 5th Class breast Badge, silver, silver-gilt and enamel; Belgium, Croix de Guerre, nearly extremely fine or better, with related group of nine miniature awards, both groups mounted as originally worn (18)
O.B.E. London Gazette, 3.6.1919 'For valuable services rendered on connection with the war'.
Major Humphrey Averell Daniell, O.B.E. (1882-1953), educated at Eton, served in South Africa 1899-1902 with the 3rd Hampshire (Militia) Battalion; employed with the Colonial Office as Assistant District Officer, Somaliland Protectorate, from 1906; served in France and Belgium from 1916 and is noted as Staff Officer, 18th Battalion London Regiment (Mentioned in Despatches twice in 1917).
