Washington, Government Printing Office, 1872. 8vo, dark brown cloth, gilt spine [reading "Ku Klux Conspiracy,"], later mylar jacket. Cracked hinges reinforced with black tape. Boards chipped and rubbed, lightly shaken, but overall VG. Covering the state of Reconstruction at the time, it focuses - as the spine indicates - on the rise of the Ku Klux Klan.
