[Lincoln]: Uncommon Broadside, ca. 21.5" x 16.25", bordered in black, dominated by an image resembling a monument, with a shining star at its top in which is the single word "Union". It reads in part: "This / MONUMENT / is inscribed / In the Hearts of the American People, / And of the / Friends of Liberty and Humanity throughout the World / To the / MEMORY / of / ABRAHAM LINCOLN...A MARTYR / To his Country / Falling Under the Hands of a Traitor Assassin..." Under bold letters that again name "ABRAHAM LINCOLN" is a quote from his great Second Inaugural Address: "If God wills that this mighty scourge of war continue until all the wealth piled by the bondsman´s two hundred and fifty years of unrequited toil shall be sunk, and until every drop of blood drawn by the lash shall be paid by another drawn with the sword...still it must be said that ´the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous´..." At bottom, in shadowed letters, the broadside once more proclaims him "THE GREAT EMANCIPATOR." Fold wear, including small tears and holes, affecting one line of text, also some chipping at right edge. Otherwise G/VG. This fine and rare item will display magnificently. Estimate US$ 750-1,000
