Uncle Tom´s Cabin Lithograph Rare and dynamic Lithograph broadside for "UNCLE TOM´S CABIN" by W.J. Morgan & Co. of Cleveland, OH, ca. 1880. A large, ca. 21" x 17.75" collage of scenes from the book: Uncle Tom reading to Little Eva; Topsy dancing and singing; Eliza fleeing with her child; and a crowd of free blacks socializing. The depictions are generally sympathetic, as befits scenes from Harriet Beecher Stowe´s anti-slavery classic, but are still caricatures of their time. We are uncertain if this was used to promote the book or a stage production, of which there were several. Extensive restoration at edges, with upper right corner replaced, not affecting illustrated figure. Matted. Overall VG. A rare piece. Estimate US$ 300-400
