c1916 Photograph in sepia of Admiral of the Fleet the Earl Jellicoe, in uniform taken aboard his flagship signed "J.R. Jellicoe" in ink to the lower right of the image (20x24cm), framed and glazed in an attractive standing frame (32x38cm).
Provenance: Robert Alexander Hill (1870-1935) of Garneth House, Bridge of Allan, Stirlingshire, thence by descent. A solicitor by profession, Hill was invited to Scapa Flow to update the Admiral's will on the eve of the Battle of Jutland.
