1814 (1 April) Autograph letter written by Edward Tyndall from HMS Ajax, Cawsand Bay, to Miss Tyndall at Fort, near Bristol, with a Plymouth datestamp, reporting his safe arrival on board, where "we have Sir Harry Neale's flag...who is going to Basque Roads with us". Refers to a French 80 gunship escaping from Bordeaux and the sight of "a very fine French Frigate come in here with her mizen mast shot away, she was taken by the Hebrus Capt Palmer".
