1715 - The "Papist" Derwenter Family estates were confiscated by Act of Attainder and given to Greenwich Hospital for retired Seamen. A manuscript receipt for £1000 dated 1737 ex the Derwenter Estates is signed by a member of the Petre family and another part printed receipt dated 1805 relates to a property in the manor of Alstonmore, Cumberland, one of the sequestered Derwenter estates, with an embossed 2d receipt (2)
